On my case I just can't use video on Skype-Linux. I have a Philips SPC1300NC camera (0471:0331) I can voice chat on Skype usig the webcam mic (we are using the same webcam and uvcvideo drivers on both ends) but as soon as we try to send video, one of the two persons stops receiving audio and the video, too, is not received both sides. Also, the camera remains garbled till next reboot. As luvcview works, I believed the uvcvideo driver was OK and Skype had a problem; maybe it's the opposite?
