My Logitech QuickCam Go is not listed at
http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#devices
>From lsusb:
Bus 002 Device 006: ID 046d:092f Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Express Plus
Note: Box says "QuickCam Go" and not "QuickCam Express Plus"!

Even after
http://liquidat.wordpress.com/2007/12/07/howto-logitech-quickcam-pro-9000-with-fedora-8/
I had no luck. trunck r205
(only thus:)
localhost kernel: usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and
address 8
localhost kernel: usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

I am not sure how to confirm that uvcvideo.ko is properly installed.
/lib/modules/2.6.24.4-64.fc8/kernel/drivers/media/video/uvcvideo/uvcvideo.ko
(57.8KB 29 Mar)
/lib/modules/2.6.24.5-85.fc8/kernel/drivers/media/video/uvcvideo/uvcvideo.ko
(57.8KB 19 Apr)
/linux-uvc/trunk/uvcvideo.ko (size=880.8KB 30 Apr)

[... linux-uvc]# lsmod >pre_uvc.txt
[... linux-uvc]# modprobe uvcvideo
[... linux-uvc]# lsmod >uvc.txt
[... linux-uvc]# diff uvc.txt pre_uvc.txt
2,6d1
< uvcvideo 49349 0
< compat_ioctl32 5185 1 uvcvideo
< videodev 27713 1 uvcvideo
< v4l1_compat 15813 2 uvcvideo,videodev
< v4l2_common 18497 2 uvcvideo,videodev

After modprobe uvcvideo I get
... kernel: Linux video capture interface: v2.00
... kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo
... kernel: USB Video Class driver (v0.1.0)

but still I only get upon usb insertion:
... kernel: usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and
address 4
... kernel: usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
and no /dev/video

Specifications: (as per box)
Quality CiF (352x288) webcam
Video Capture: 640x480 pixels (software enhanced {I suppose windows
driver})
Up to 30 frames per second live video
USB 1.1/2.0
Barcode: for QC Go 961468-0914: 5 099206 988019

This is on Fedora 8 with current updates on 2008-04-30

How can I help?

Best regards
Danie
