Hello, For you skype problem is more likely that skype doesn't know how to handle mjpg. It only looks for accelerated video display using YUV formats. There are others that exhibit the same behavior. In order to solve that I heard there is a software ( I think a kernel module) that creates for a video device (ex /dev/video0) another one (ex: /dev/video1) on which the format is translated as instructed by you in its arguments (when loaded).
So a mjpg -> YUV should solve the skype problem (then of course the video device in skype is /dev/video1).
