That is correct,

In this latest case, I was working with the camera in kernel 2.6.27-8, I
then upgrade to 2.6.27-10 and rebooted.
After booting the camera was dead, it didn't even start.
Like I said in the previous post, unplugging didn't work, I had to rmmod
and modprobe to get it to work.
I actually rmmod / modprobe with the camera unplugged, don't know if it
makes a difference.
I haven't tried booting with different kernels, but I think that could
be a good debug test, just to make sure this is
caused the upgrade process and not by changing kernels with the camera
connected.
