I might have misunderstood something, but I thought the idea was that
any application that makes use of libv4l2, would _automatically_ flip
the image if the camera is known to be mounted upside down.

Some applications can obviously flip the image as a sort of effect,
but other applications don't have that as an option. And even if they
do, they at least default to showing an upside-down image. I was
hoping for a system that takes care of the image transparently and
out-of-the-box, so to speak. But that's not supposed to be the case
then?
