Hi,
I recently bought the Speedlink VAD Laplace webcam. Unfortunately
there is no Linux support up to now (I've seen at least 4 questions
on that topic). It's a 2 MP (Photo, Video 1.3 MP) with some unique
features over other webcams I've come across by now.
Speedlink does neither offer Linux nor MAC support (not even older
Win* versions).
For a sound card I once downloaded USB utilities to analyze some
behaviour of the card (communication with driver) on Windows but
didn't need it after all. I'd be willing to help you in this regard
to get it running.
My (white) webcam has ID 9003 (vendor ID 1ae7) and I've read that the
black version has ID 9004. Complete output from lsusb (based on
/proc/bus/usb/devices) is in attachment. The sound part of the cam
seems to be recognized by the alsa snd-usb-audio driver.

I checked other webcam drivers before but this card does not seem
to be supported by any of these (mainly easycam sources).
The documentation just states how to download current sources
and build them but is there some more documentation as starting
point for a developer ? (like simply how do I get to recognize
my card by the driver).
