Hi,
I just want to say that I just bought a Creative Live! Cam Notebook Ultra
(because it was fully supported according to your website). Unfortunately,
the device doesn't work at all and the Device ID does not match the one you
have in the website (perhaps the one I bought is the most recent model).
Here is the information I could find in /var/log/
uvcvideo: Failed to query (1) UVC control 1 (unit 0) : -110 (exp. 26).
uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device VF0490 Live Cam Notebook Ultra (041e:4072)
While the webcam usually fails to load, sometimes it is loaded properly and
using luvcview makes it work. However, 80% of the time this is not so
causing this error:
Unable to set format: Input/output error
Init v4L2 failed !! exit fatal
When the device is actually loaded to /dev/video0 properly and it works
under luvcview and skype, usb audio doesn't work at all. The modules are
loaded, but if I try:
alsamixer -c 2
alsamixer: function snd_mixer_load failed: Invalid argument
In fact when double clicking on the sound applet in the gnome panel, if I
try to select other devices, the usb microphone is not listed at all. This
is very strange since I get the following output from the commands:

I believe the previous model (which is the one probably listed on the
website) is the VF0310. I will now return the product for a refund.
I'm running Debian Lenny 5.0.2 amd64 gnome with a custom built kernel:
2.6.27.28
I have another UVC webcam device (logitech quickcam pro for notebooks (2007
model)) which works perfectly under the same circumstances.
