Hi there,
Sorry if this is not quite on topic.
I wish to use my webcam to capture some timelapse video of cloud/storm buildup
here in Brisbane (it is summer thunderstorm season).
I've googled, but I cannot see a single step method. Most methods use scripts
to grab frames every however long, but then require a 2nd command to recompile
to video. I wish to bypass that by grabbing a frame every 30 or 60 frames (cam
is 30fps), and directly encoding it into a video running at 25 or 30 fps. Docs
for mencoder, ffmpeg, and other software, plus google cannot answer this for me.
I'm sure I've seen this done before, but this was 4-5 years ago and my memory
of it is sketchy at best. Can anyone help? I want to avoid creating directories
full of single frames that need to be recompiled, and would much prefer if the
encoding process waited for new frames and just added them as they came in.
Kind regards,
Chris Wilkinson, Brisbane, Australia.
