>From my (limited) tests of UVC devices, I usually advice recent Logitech webcams. The firmware issues that plagued the first generations are gone, and the image quality is usually quite good. I haven't tested the very latest models though. If you want an outstanding quality, go for a professional model, such as http://www.tandberg.com/video-conferencing-telepresence-peripherals/hd-usb- camera.jsp. Pretty expensive, but the picture quality is amazing.
