Hi. I have a Microsoft LifeCam HD-5000 (045e:076d) working almost perfectly. I had some trouble getting a mjpeg stream @ 30 fps out of it. I figured out that I needed to turn auto-exposure off and adjust it manually.
But the camera does not respond to exposure adjustment linearly. There are some valid values between 5-20000. They are from darkest to brightest 5, 9 & 10 (same brightness), 19 & 20, 39, 78, 156, 312, 625, 1250, 2500, 5000 and 10000. Every other value gives the maximum brightness. 156 is the maximum value to get 30 fps. I'm running 2.6.32-29-generic kernel on Ubuntu Lucid 64-bit. Don't know the driver version.
