I have never used luvcview. It is interesting that no matter how I specify the -f option here, it gives the same result, and that result is subjectively very similar to what skype is showing. The horizontal split in the screen hops up and down. I cannot get luvcview to show a normal undistorted view at all, counter to all the other programs I mentioned in my last message: is it perhaps subject to the same problem that skype is? (Actually, the raw image attachment is too large for the list. In the rare event anyone other than Alexey wants to take a look at it, let me know. I can describe it a little: the correct image is cut horizontally about 2/3 of the way down and glued together with the top part on the bottom, and it has horizontal bands of distortion throughout.)
