On my system (Kubuntu 11.10, Oneiric) running guvcview 1.5.1, the 
catch button works to capture images for a LifeCam Cinema webcam 
but not for the LifeCam Studio.  I'm using the .deb package available
from http://sourceforge.net/projects/guvcview/files/debian-bin/ .
