Yocto core-image-sato comes with X11/Xorg and currently startup works but there is no output drawn to an HDMI display on AMD KV260. Xorg falls back to using 24bpp defaults which don't work on KV260. Workaround is to set 16bpp in Xorg config or add this patch to kernel where xlnx fb driver reports to userspace and X11 that it prefers 16bpp.
Submitted to upstream but unfortunately there are several patches in this area which have the same effect but none of them have been merged in a long time. Thus this simple one liner patch should be applied for now until other fixes or improvements make this obsolete. https://lore.kernel.org/dri-devel/[email protected]/ https://lore.kernel.org/dri-devel/aUkSclVzlRCXDdug@nuoska/ Mikko Rapeli (1): drm: xlnx: zynqmp_kms: set preferred_depth to 16 bpp drivers/gpu/drm/xlnx/zynqmp_kms.c | 1 + 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+) -- 2.34.1
