Hi Bruce,

These two patches address two issues I encountered while switching the default
kernel to v6.18. Please merge them into the v6.18/standard/base branch.

- The first patch resolves an RTNL assertion call trace during boot. It took
  longer than expected to fix, so I apologize for the delay in transitioning to
  the v6.18 kernel. Although the fix has already been merged into the net tree,
  it will take some time to propagate to linux-yocto via stable kernel updates.
  Therefore, I have included it here. Since this issue does not block kernel 
boot,
  if you prefer to wait for it to come through the stable update, that is also
  acceptable.

- The second patch fixes a known issue. We have already integrated it into the
  v6.6 and v6.12 linux-yocto kernels. I submitted it upstream, but it was
  superseded by a more general implementation [1]. However, I am unsure why that
  patch series has not been merged for such a long time. In any case, we still
  need this fix in linux-yocto to ensure Xorg works properly on the BeagleBone
  Black board.
