Does anyone know the exact reason, why the code wasn't ported to
mainline? Isn't it ported just because no one had the time, or are there
some quality issues which prevented that the code was applied to mainline?

I ported it to my raspberry kernel with relative low effort and for my
first tests its working there without bigger problems. As far as I see
it there are still some open points with that code (like accepting every
asosc response, etc...), but the basics are working.

Regards,
Sascha
