I started on porting 6lowpan over to Linux. If you'd like to take over the project for you thesis you are welcome to it. I sent a snapshot of my current port to the list. I began by porting the Contiki code to Linux. Send seems to work, but receive is not working. There is something wrong in the skb processing. The Redwire econotags are the most cost effective way to play with 802.15.4, http://www.redwirellc.com/store/ http://mc1322x.devl.org/ You don't have to have 802.15.4 hardware to work on 6lowpan.
