thanks for this report. I will look at the lowpan-tools a little bit
deeper in the next time, then I will add support for the new netlink api
introduce by Phoebe Buckheister.

There are some library version incompatible things, but this should be
handled by ./configure script.

I tested it with libnl-3.2.3 and I have the same issue.

For now, can you try to use a newer libnl3 version? This should work.
Currently it's good to use libnl3_2_23 or above. I saw some routing
patches from Tony Cheneau for it if you like to use simpleRPL and
6LoWPAN afterwards.

I use version 3.2.3 myself and it work.
