A nice thing about reusing other tools is that you can blame *them* for most
bugs. :D
In this case, it would most likely be an x11vnc bug or a vinagre bug.
David, try the following steps:
1) On the teacher pc, run "vinagre". Ensure that "reverse connections" is
enabled in the "Machine → Reverse Connections..." menu.
2) On a student pc, run "x11vnc -connect <ip-of-teacher-pc>". If the teacher pc
is a thin client, put the server IP there.
You should be able to reproduce the problem with those 2 steps.
If so, mark this bug as "invalid" in the sch-scripts package, and file it again
under the x11vnc package.
Keep in mind that the problem might also depend on the keyboard layout
of both of the teacher and the student.

Title:
When controlling student screen, colon key types a semi-colon
Status in Scripts for Greek school labs using Ubuntu/LTSP:
Incomplete
Bug description:
This was difficult as I was trying to type in an address where I had
to specify the port number--wasn't a big deal because I just told the
student to type the colon key at the client keyboard.
