Hi all,
I hexedited Runometer_RunFinder.dmg (thx, ssx!), a 563kB binary file
that should be located somewhere near
/iPod_Control/Device/Trainer/Workouts/Empeds, according to
http://runometer.com. This file appears to be Nikepods specific.
here is a *quick* overview of this file:
-appears to be an Apple HFS mountable file
-there's an XML file at 0x26000
-there are copyright info at 0x37000
-kind of script at 0x38000
-xml again at 0x39000
-"#!/usr/bin/perl" at 0x3E000 (if someone could help, i'm a bit lost :/)
-a big xml file at 0x6c000
the rest of the file is mainly empty, with binary data (sometimes)
The following strings were found in the file: "/usr/lib/dyld",
"/System/Library/Frameworks/Security", "class_name_SillyStringEncrypt",
"darwin_gcc3". There's definitely something here ! :)
This file is available on our SVN at:
http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/linux4nano/trunk/ipod%2Bnike/.
Understanding it could lead us to execute code on IN2G, but before going
further, we must confirm that this file can be executed on Nikepods. Can
someone help ?
Regards,
Jean Loup Le Roux.

Sorry, I don't have any other info (yet).
Thought that there might me some sort of SDK that allows you to write
applications for iPod

Subject: [Linux4nano-dev] Ability to run you own code on iPod?
Hi all,
we can manualy add a route to the ipod via a .gpx file (kind of kml gps
waypoints file). Maybe we could find a buffer overflow exploit to run
arbitrary code on the ipod ?
Ssx: could you give us more details about that Runometer_RunFinder.dmg
file ? According to JD we can't find this file on our Red IN2G.
Regards,
Jean Loup 'NC' Le Roux.

Hi all,
I just run into this:
http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/
and this:
http://runometer.com/howto.html
does it mean that there is a way to run your own code on iPod?
at least I see something that looks like gcc compiled executable code
inside Runometer_RunFinder.dmg
