Hey,
we work on the boot process of the iPod making some modifications of
the code. You can find a resume of our experiences on the website :

For the moment, we can each time restore the iPod, sometimes after
fear ;) The bootloader is well designed so using disk mode it seems
that we can fix almost everything.
This first tests show that even if Apple keep the same structure, some
parts become useless.
