I already said that I need help for this! I'm currently working on

you, you have to put me in contact with someone who knows at least
the previous iPod hardware (Flashbased player). I wont be able to do
it alone...

Yes, you can execute ARM code in the Nano (If I assume correctly)

You disable the decryption by filling the Security block with F!

I don't know how to write to the main flash to copy the flashrom. So
how can I do that? The memDumper I wrote, use the HDD for the dump...

About that brute force thing, I have already tried, and it don't work...

Hi,

I'm new to this list, but I'm interested in getting a Linux kernel onto the iPod
Nano 2G's...

Currently I don't actually have any hardware, but I'm considering buying one as
it seems like you might crack the encryption soon. :)

If you want to dump some data you might consider dumping it out through the
Piezo transducer, assuming this hardware has one. This was the method used on
previous hardware to dump the bootloader. Perhaps even with a little luck you
could use the same code... maybe modify the addresses a little.

Have you actually been able to get some code to execute on the hardware using
the encryption-bypassing (fill security block with 0xf) method? I'm interested
to learn more about this. :)

Thank you.
