There is still hope, but not that much. Our main hope at the moment is injecting some code into a game for a 3g nano, dumping it's firmware/bootloader and hoping they used the same encryption. I would say we are at about 2 on your scale, as we already collected a lot of information, but only have a rough approach at hacking it, nothing really achieved yet. But if we indeed manage to crack that encryption that way, this may jump up to about 5 in a few days. In case you know someone having a 3g nano or a classic, that could probably of much help to us.
