Alright, I've been putting a TON of thought it this, way too much
considering I don't have my nano anymore...
But, here's my analysis, comparing to the dissassembly of the iPhone.
Essentially, the iPods have this NAND chip inside of them, and in the
iPhone, the bootloader code is in fact loaded onto it.
With the right equipment, we CAN dump the information off of this chip, in
which then we'd have all the information we need to successfully decrypt it.
I wouldn't recommend using a NEW iPod nano with it, but instead a possibly
bricked/cheap one on eBay, etc.
For the guys at the robotics/engineering/technology school, this bit is
definately for you.

The site has been down for some reason, but there is the Google cache page,
it should be a basis for something to do this.
Essentially, this has been done with similar technology, and we can do it
too :)
