Very interesting. I don't know exactly how pwnage2 works, but I'm going to take a look at the source of dfu-util (the utility made by the devteam/openmoko that runs unsigned code on the iPhone with pwnage2) and see what we can do. It'll be hard to know what unsigned code to run though, I guess, because the DFU stuff we have currently is encrypted, it'll be really hard to actually get something to run, but we can always try...
Please let me know if what I'm saying is completely and entirely off, maybe the iPod nano isn't as similar to the iPhone as I thought :p Ari On Feb 22, 2009, at 10:09 AM, The Seven wrote: > 2G: Reset and hold left+bottom (on newer firmwares it only seems to > work > if the firmware is corrupted and the ipod is connected to a pc) > > 3G: Connect to PC and Double-Reset (e.g. hold reset until it reboots > for > the second time (screen will stay off) and gets detected by iTunes) > > iTunes can restore 3G with something that looks like WTF+iBoot which > could be vulnerable to Pwnage2, however it will not be able to use DFU > on 2G. > > Ari schrieb: >> How do you put the iPod nano into DFU mode? >> >> Ari >> >> On Feb 22, 2009, at 8:58 AM, Raoul Guggenheim wrote: >> >>> http://privatepaste.com/db1mxKl3Z4 >>> http://privatepaste.com/b1KR4Nk70d >>> Yes iTunes will restore my ipod nano 3g in DFU mode. >>> >>> >>> Am 22.02.2009, 14:52 Uhr, schrieb The Seven <[email protected]>: >>> >>>> Please re-upload them to somewhere where they can be downloaded >>>> more >>>> than 10 times. >>>> Does that mean, that iTunes can communicate with an iPod Nano 3G in >>>> DFU >>>> mode? >>>> >>>> Raoul Guggenheim schrieb: >>>>> As it looks I can't attach files.
