we spent a number of days trying that with nothing as a result. We called
IBM support line, and then thru dialogue with them arrived at the idea /
concept, that like the display session TN5250 creates, ie. virtual, so
should the design of a printer session be followed.

If you can re-direct me back to a remote outq, and a valid command line
format for TN5250 printer session, we'll be happy to go back and try the new
suggestions. Problem is, we have too many variables now, ie. proper
configuration of the AS400 side, proper printer configuration on the LInux /
printer side, command line variables fluctuation. For example the -p doesn't
work but is shown in the examples as being the 'printer session' designator,
however the -P does work. The -T is not shown in example, and the only
command following -P illustrated is scs2ascii | lpr -Pprintername.

Somebody showing us a bedrock working command line, would help relieve some
of the variables.

Thanks for the reply

Mike
