James: The compiler is GCC, and it's free. the README.txt file in the Win32 directory explains how to get it and install it, etc. You just need to build it once, and then you can throw it into your SAMBA share... So do I :) Actually, I was thinking that when we make the next release, we should make a binary install using InstallShield so that it behaves the way people expect when installing Windows apps... But, I don't know whether this is allowed with the license we're using, or what the ramifications would be if it included SSL, etc...
