Looking to compile the software on windows, looking for directions. what compiler, do I need glib, etc. Looks like from the sourcecode below:
if (tn5250_config_get(config, "outputcommand")) { len = strlen(tn5250_config_get(config, "outputcommand")); temp = g_malloc(len+1); strcpy(temp, tn5250_config_get(config, "outputcommand")); if (!strncasecmp(temp, "printer:", 8)) { strncpy(devname, &temp[8], MAXDEVNAME); } else if (!strncasecmp(temp, "file:", 5)) { strncpy(devname, &temp[5], MAXDEVNAME); isfile=1; } else { strncpy(devname, temp, MAXDEVNAME); } g_free(temp); }
Taken from lp5250d-win.c, that there is still no way to pipe print text to a command via outputcommand=command:"perl -e \"while (<>) {print $_}\"" Obviously all this would do is print text to a command prompt., but lets say I wanted to do something like have anything "printed" to this lp5250d instance be emailed to my cell phone, and have a msgq monitor. Yes I would like to use a unix box to handloe this, but If this were an IDEAL world I would be allowed to setup SMTP on all the as/400s at work and have the monitor program email me stuff via snddst or that IBm supplied freeware ezmailer.
