I know that in FreeBSD's console mode, if I hit shift+tab it generates the same escape code as if I hit shift-F2. This meant that I could not distinguish backtab from F14 until I created a separate termcap, etc, that sent separate codes for those. I don't have this problem in FreeBSD when I'm using xt5250, though. However, if you load the keyboard maps supplied with TN5250, shift+tab should work. It does for me, at least! I couldn't live without it! Then again, I don't know if it's different on your keyboard vs. the ones we use in the US. I also don't know if it's different with a 122 key keyboard... is this under Linux? Trinux?
