ok, the backup is done. i just copied the files to the personal folder on
my SA's 130G file server, since NT doesn't have quotas I was able to do this
easily. It did take all day, and there was what looked like a 10:1
collision to transmission ratio on my little hub, but it all got there. is
there a utility that will check 2 folders for files that are the same?(
windiff will do it, but it will also take all day, and i don't have
DevStudio installed yet after i had to rebuild my 98 box that i got new less
than a year ago )

did it.

I was able to rm the link. leaving nothing. i then mkdir'd a new mp3
folder, inside it was nothing.

nope

nope

nope. error: device in use

at this point i started looking at my files from the pc, where were still
accessable via smb. when i logged in via ssh, the files were there! then
when i checked again localy, all the files were there. i then corrected all
the links that i wanted.

i did a hard boot just to make sure things would come back up, and they did
to my supprise. nice.
