Speaker: Jeff Posdamer

Jeff will be show some of the latest and greatest computer-generated 
animated films from the most recent ACM SIGGRAPH computer graphics 
conference. Jeff will show a variety of technologies: scientific 
visualization graphics, commercial graphics used in television and movies, 
and some examples of current computer graphics research. The films include 
everything from state-of-the-art supercomputer technology to graphics that 
can be done with today's personal computers. Come see why this is the best 
attended meeting we have all year.

ADDING SIGHT TO SOUND: TELEVISION'S PAST, PRESENT, & FUTURE

Joint meeting: Princeton Chapter Media Communications Association, 
Philadelphia Section, Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers), 
Delaware Valley Chapter of the Acoustical Society of America, Society of 
Broadcast Engineers, and Philadelphia Chapter of the Audio Engineering Society

Panel Moderator: Alex Magoun, Director of the David Sarnoff Library.

This special meeting will present a wide-ranging panel of speakers, each 
telling a piece of the story of the history of television.
As the events of September 11 showed, broadcast video remains the most 
affecting and effective method of mass communication around the world. This 
meeting is part of Sarnoff Corporation's celebration surrounding the IEEE's 
Milestone award to the RCA Laboratories for the invention of electronic, 
monochrome-compatible, color television.  Speakers will include RCA 
retirees who were involved in the creation of color television and current 
authorities on future developments of digital broadcasting and convergence 
technologies.
