A note to the HAMLUG ML:
Several of us have been visiting other LUGS in NJ and
folks from other LUGS have been visiting us. I think
that's great. Each LUG has it's own flavor.
One thing HAMLUG does that the others do not is: we always have machines and networks hooked up and someone is always doing some project with their hardware/network/os.
In the absence of monthly speakers and presentations we have evolved into a sort of hardware/TCPip-Network workshop. I think that's great too. I haven't seen that at other LUGS and I love that we do that. I'm there every month with hardware working on some hands-on project. And a few others always bring hardware too.
At this stage the NJ LUGS are getting a lot of cross-polination between the various groups while still maintaining their individuality.
It use to be it was hard to find a LUG. Then there were a few with little communication between them. Now we're "networking" between the LUGS. Cool. Wonder what's gonna happen next?
