While I was out doing some holiday shopping in
Freehold, I stopped in CompUSA at the mall. There I found on sale the Toshiba
WRC-1000 for 29.99! This is a 4 port 10/100 switch with automatic
crossover on all ports. A WAN port for sharing your DSL or Cable access AND a
802.11b wireless access point.
When I looked at the software license agreement, it
appears that almost the entire product is linux 2.4.5 kernel based. It supports
both bridged and NAT , the latest in wireless security, ... ( I need to calm
down)
Web based pricing is significantly higher, dont
understand how they can sell it this cheap. If you have the slightest thought of
going wireless, look into this. I think the sale ends in a couple of days.
