Hi there, I have never heard of that meetup. There are a lot of open source and Linux-specific meetups in the Ottawa area - basically, choose your preferred distro.
You have reached the list for Linux - all distros (some of us use Ubuntu, RHEL, Arch, SUSE, etc.).
