apt-get install kdm, para que pise al xdm...
O quizas darle un dpkg-reconfigure xdm para que te pregunte con cual
deseas inciiar...

Debes instalar kdm (para KDE) o gdm (para GNOME).

Cuando instalaste FC4 podías usar el mouse en el instalador de FC???
Si no te funcionaba durante la instalación es probable que no reconozca
tu serial.

kdm & gdm son independientes en su funcionamiento, si se recomienda:
usar kdm en caso que nuestro entorno de escritorio sea kde, por que ya tiene
casi todas las lib's que usa kdm
y gdm en el caso de gnome, por la misma razón...
sin perjuicio: de hacer funcionar kdm como inicio de sesion y tener
escritorio gnome... (u otro)
