Hi, When I run VMWare Express 2.03 it refuses to connect my SCSI CDROM device (Plextor). It says :
CDROM:"/dev/cdrom exists but does not appear to be a cdrom device. But on the host (SuSE linux 7.1 kernel 2.4) the cdrom is mounted and accessible under /dev/cdrom !! I have : one hard disk IDE one hard disk SCSI (with linux installed) one cdrom SCSI Plextor one cdwriter SCSI Yamaha 4216 Processor Type = Pentium II Processor Speed = 350 Processor OverClocked = No Ram (MB)= 128 Video Card Manufacturer = gygabyte Video Card Model = 660+ Video Card RAM = 32 I can read the floppy disk within VMware but not the cdrom... I success boot my virtual pc with the MS Windows install diskette ! but the cd .... I reported this incident to the VMware support which recommand to use kernel 2.2.18 (VM prob. with kernel 2.4) but I want to use this kernel. Perhaps, is there anyone with new ideas ?
