Hi Dan, Thanks for asking. This is my fifth layoff since 2004. I have a good chance at a job already - two phone interviews, and now an in-person interview coming up. Even if I don't get this one, there will be more.
I'm doing fine for now. And we had a group lunch today. (14 people?) And the people I talked to at the OCLUG meeting last Tuesday were very helpful. I might add that every job I have got since 2004 was through networking in some way, including through OCLUG. The Ottawa software groups have been very helpful. That's one of the reasons I maintain, and mention, the list of Ottawa groups on my blog. It's a simple way to give back.
