Hi Jonas, A while back I rebased your linux tree at openrisc.net against an upstream 3.15 kernel [1], mostly out of personal interest to get an overview of what out of tree patches we are carrying. It's not a 'pure' rebase in that sense that I squashed a lot of commits together. I also tried to reorder things of 'upstreamability' and group related things together.
A couple of pending things popped out, for instance the rather critical union semun patch[2] I know that you sent this upstream already in 2011, but there was no response on it [3]. After the rebase, I gathered together a couple of patches that have been floating around and applied those ontop of the rebased tree [4]. Among those, you'll find the patch [5] mentioned in the subject. This patch is *very* critical and it'd be great if some effort would be put into getting that upstream asap. As for testing, I've been carrying that patch in all the kernels I've used (including my current SMP wip) since you made it. Christian Svensson has been carrying it in the kernels he used for his openrisc debian work. So, I think it has got it's fair amount of test usage by now.
