SCO Makes Unix Copyright Claim
Lisa M. Bowman, CNET News.com

The SCO Group said that it has received a copyright on its Unix source
code and that it would start a program that would let companies that
use the code avoid litigation by paying licensing fees. The company,
which is at the heart of a controversial lawsuit over Linux code, said
that it plans to offer licenses that will support run-time, binary use
of Linux to all companies that use Linux kernel versions 2.4 and later.
