Donc, je pense qu'il est assez facile de la convertir à Linux (soit SuSE 9.0 qui arrive, soit Knoppix sur disque dur)
Je reçois la SuSE 9.0 demain ou après-demain. Je raconterai de quoi ça a l'air ;)
Je lui mettrais probablement :
KDE, OpenOffice, XMMS (elle a l'habitude de Winamp), un lecteur CD, un soft pour afficher des photos (ça ne manque pas), Mozilla/FireBird 6.1, Gaim et/ou PSI (ou un autre client Jabber)
Va plutôt pour Kopete, quitte à mettre KDE 3 (le meilleur choix d'ailleurs, pour le passage windows -> Linux).
reste les mails !!! Quel client mail choisir ?
IMHO Mozilla ou Thunderbird. Leur "Junk Engine" fonctionne très bien.
Evidemment, KMail est déjà avec KDE, et il n'est pas difficile.Moui... mais KMail n'est pas bien terrible je trouve.
http://sylpheed-claws.sourceforge.net/Sylpheed est léger et rapide, mais l'interface est un peu bizarre et l'affichage des mails est à ch... Je l'ai essayé qqes fois mais je suis toujours repassé à Mozilla (maintenant probablement Thunderbird... la 0.3 est plutôt mignonne ;)).

A priori je dirais donc Mozilla ou Thunderbird (avec GTK+2 et Xft et un joli thème comme p.ex. Ximian Industrial... disons que c'est loin d'être moche ;)).
MAIS... - il faudrait que ce client mail existe en Françaiset oui... la localisation française de Mozilla (comme pour OpenOffice d'ailleurs) traîne un peu... (c'est le moins qu'on puisse dire).
KMail est effectivement entièrement localisé en français. Evolution aussi je pense.

- comment y importer les anciens emails venant de M$ Outlook Express ??? (vous voyez que ça a qd mm un rapport avec Outlook Express)

LibDBX contains C and a C++ interfaces for accessing Outlook Express dbx files (the C++ interface is just a wrapper for the C interface). Included are 2 programs.
