Si tu es sur SUSE, fais plutôt ceci, sur le serveur(toujours en tant que root):
~ rcportmap start
~ rcnfsserver start
Pour que ce soit permanent et que portmap et le serveur NFS soient automatiquement démarrés au boot:
~ chkconfig portmap on
~ chkconfig nfsserver on

Non, c'est un démon. Il doit être lancé au démarrage (ou ultérieurement). Sur SUSE, utilise "rcportmap" suivi de "start", "stop", "status". Sur Debian, ça doit être /etc/rc.d/init.d/portmap start|stop
