Are you logging as an administrator or any user. Even if you are looging as 
user you should able to create files underneath.
 Delete the session if there are any open sessions in windows .restart samba 
service and check

I m using my samba(RHEL 5) server as files server in windows network. I can 
create folder and files from windows and it can be accessible by linux also but 
when i m tring to  copying some files and folder from linux to shared SAMBA  
folder i can't see through windows machine even i check setting permission to 
777.
