First of all, Have u installed your apache with rpm or sourcecode chk whether ssl module is enabled for apache, $httpd -M
If the above cmd shows mod_ssl then you have to just uncomment the include line of ssl in httpd.conf. then $telnet localhost 443 Now host mail.abc.com site under ssl conf file. For Redirection Add the following under virtual host of mail.abc.com Redirect / https://mail.abc.com You can also use ProxyPass for Invisibility of ur https url. Regards.
