dear all i have mail server setup with 5500 users mta is qmail and imap server is dovecot and squirreelmail is used as webmail access
during peek time my webmail users are geting connection droped by imp server and when users try to delete any mails they get ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.Query: COPY5322:5323,5325:5333 "Trash" and when i issue a sar 1 5 i get Linux 2.6.18-92.el5 (mail.shapoorji.com) 08/16/10 11:00:02 CPU %user %nice %system %iowait %steal %idle 11:00:03 all 7.96 0.00 15.42 76.62 0.00 0.00 11:00:04 all 1.50 0.00 12.50 86.00 0.00 0.00 11:00:05 all 1.00 0.00 13.50 85.50 0.00 0.00 Average: all 3.49 0.00 13.81 82.70 0.00 0.00 and peak hours there is concurrent 130 to 150 imap connections but during off peak hours there is no issues and there is a smooth performance pop users have no issues at any point of time is there any fine tuning need to be done on dovecot.conf iam using default setting no customisatio done any one have faced similar issues or have any solutions please help regard ashok
