ok, I really thank you for getting that cleared up...that's been bugging 
me for some time.  So, now the question is why the Linux box is not 
receiving any info from the router.  The cable and nic work in windows.  
Does the linux box not broadcast?  I did turn off broadcasting to 
associates on router, but that's the way it is supposed to be as I 
understand it.
