I have Samba up and running now, as I mentioned on my other post, later 
in the morning, on the 'linux' list.

I used smbpasswd to add a user, and it worked fine.

I still have some clean-up to do... I used an absolutely minimal 
smb.conf file, just to get things running without a lot of variables, 
that might have created problems.

I'll probably have more questions later, but as I did pick up the 'The 
Official Samba 3' book, I am getting a lot of questions answered from 
the book.

Pretty interesting, Samba... a real learning experience on both the 
Linux and Windows sides... getting them to dance together nicely.<g>
