Dear Abu Dawood, If you want to restart a specific service, use: service service_name restart Of course, replace service_name with the name of the service you want to restart. For restarting all services, the best practice is to restart the whole system, otherwise, you may switch to runlevel 1, and then back to the runlevel to which the system was running on (3 if you dont have X, or 5 if you have X installed).
