Hint: Programmers write man pages. They probably have a reason for
doing this.

Trying to figure out what someone else's source code does, and what
someone else's comments mean (especially if they are written in a
different language), in order to install and run an application, is
doing things the hard way, even for a programmer, who happens to be
proficient in the programming language used, and familiar with the
programming niche, the application belongs to.

Trying to figure out what my own source code does, and what my own
comments mean, a year after I wrote them, is challenging enough.

Right now, I am working on figuring out how to configure and run
Apache and Sendmail on an OpenBSD installation. I have the books, I
have the man pages, I have about a dozen different information sources
open in my browsers.

I have a sneaking suspicion that browsing the germane source code for
this stuff, would be unenlightening, and a huge waste of my time.
