how to start the start option of linux to choose options coz mouse is not

What type of mouse do you have? By that, I mean what interface does it
use? USB (rectangular plug), PS/2 (round plug), or serial (trapezoidal
plug)?
What's the output of the following commands when you run them at the
command prompt?
uname -a
lsmod
grep EE /var/log/X*.log
That should help us diagnose the problem.
