I've never had a problem with RH (or Linux of any sort) and the MS optical mice. I believe RH and Fedora have always auto detected it during installation. If not, then in /etc/X11/xorg.conf (in RH, it might be XF86.config or XF86-4.conf--I'm not sure as I haven't used them in awhile, you'll see a section for the mouse. For the MS optical mouse (with a PS/2 connection), you'd use Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" > > Help is needed! Actually, help was there in the list's FAQ. The FAQ's url was given in the welcome message that you received when you joined. http://home.nyc.rr.com/computertaijutsu/linfaq.html It was in the section about getting a mouse's scroll wheel to work, so you might have overlooked it, as the header of the question didn't specifically mention optical mice. I repeat, however, that with RH, I've never had any trouble with an MS optical PS/2 mouse. - -- Scott Robbins PGP keyID EB3467D6 ( 1B48 077D 66F6 9DB0 FDC2 A409 FA54 EB34 67D6 ) gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys EB3467D6 Giles: Might I have a word?
