Well, the memory should require no configuration, I believe. When you
get it installed, take a look at the amount of your memory using free at
the command prompt. If it's less than 2 GB, you may have to reconfigure
your kernel for the larger amount of memory.
For the hard drive, you'll have to edit /etc/fstab if you want it
mounted automatically.
